1st attempt, complete success.  Apples, pears and fruit leather

Frugal School project

My son had homework before school started.
Poster for summer reading.
I cost me .25 cents
and time

I bought poster board at the dollar store for .50 cents.  Used half of it.
We didn't have a color printer, so we copied book covers in black and white and he colored them in. We use colored pencils, marker and stickers. all of which we had. Looks great.
We also did this for the art he was to bring in to decorate his locker and notebooks.

Frugal Family

My family and friends know I try to be frugal.
So, my cousin let me know of a Groupon deal.
It's a good one.
50.00 for a Lego camp.  Retail price 300.00 for a week
Perfect timing...meant to be.
All day camp, in a nearby town, Legos and Star Wars
A home run for my son.

I could go on and on about Groupon or even coupons for that matter.
How you could clip them/buy them,
And it may not have been money you would have spent originally, but now you can get a "Deal"  you spend the money.
I am lucky.  I had other camps in the pipeline for the rest of the summer, all way more expensive, and some not all day.
So, all the stars aligned and I took this deal.  Because, for me, it is a deal.

Birthday Present

A gift that keeps on giving.
I received a gift cert. for Amazon.  I purchased a food dehydrator.
I would say my first attempts were successful.
Dried fruit and fruit roll-ups.
The machine cost me nothing, so my savings are immediate.
I used fruit I had in the house
I dried Pear and apples
and made fruit strawberry banana apple fruit leather.
