Having a family tradition for a holiday can be nice...and Frugal.
I make heart shaped pancakes for Valentines Day breakfast.
Dirt cheap , I mean... very thrifty.
This year I also got strawberries on sale and used a coupon for choc. chips.
So chocolate cover Strawberries for a treat that evening.
Simple, easy and frugal.
Marked down beef turned into the chicken fried steak dinner with roasted carrots and potatoes.
A little over 1.00 per package!
What's in the fridge, part 2
Pita, hummus and whatever veggies in the fridge.
Pita .40
Hummus container 1.99, 10 servings (2TB per serving) so
.19 cents used
baby spinach .10
cucumber .15
roasted red pepper 12.5 cents
96.5 cents for lunch
What's in the fridge?
Cheap....frugal lunch
Caprese
A few slices of mozzarella cheese, then cut in half, one tomato, fresh basil from the plant on my window sill.
Salt, pepper a drizzle of olive oil and vinegar....Lunch
basil=free
tomato = .59
Cheese = .50
plus seasonings
This meal cost $4.00 to make
Not including a scant amount of olive oil, and seasonings
Made 4 servings
Chicken breast on a bed of mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables

There is just no doubt eating at home is cheaper.
This breakfast was less than a dollar. 2 waffles, 1 egg, 3 sausage links and hashbrowns.
I love to check the bargain bin (Shelf)
This week I found marked down cereal.
Either discontinued or change in box.
Cereal for .82
Yay me
Bought 5 boxes. Expire Aug 2018
Left some for others
I made a wreath years ago and blogged about it.
Gathered the pine cones
Painted them, (Mix up with online ordered resulted in free paint)
Free paint was 18k gold leaf
Here is the link from 2013

Wreath still in use, so what little money I spent, I have certainly gotten my money's worth.
